Nigerian female activist, Aisha Yusufu has revealed why many youths are keen on supporting the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi.

The activist during an interview on Arise TV was asked if the momentum that she and other youths have created ahead of the 2023 election can be sustained.

Responding, Aisha said the youths have not started because people are yet to see a large phase which is ahead.

Giving reasons why the ‘Obi movement’ can be sustained, Aisha said Nigerians are tired of the suffering they are going through and the insecurity happening to them.

She added that as the movement continues, more people would show interest and at the end of the day, they will get a country where the child of a nobody can be somebody without knowing anybody.

In her words: “We have not started, we are just chilling, you have not seen a large phase, it can be sustained because the thing that makes it easy to sustain is the suffering that we are going through, is the insecurity that is happening to us, it is the fact that every Nigerian is a victim waiting to happen.

“It is like turn by turn and you don’t know who is going to be the next victim and everyone needs to be part of it. As Nigerians see more and more people show interest in the movement going on, they would join and at the end of the day, we would get to that country where the child of a nobody can be somebody without knowing anybody.

“We are tired of knowing the children who are who, getting into positions when they are not supposed to be there.”
